Father Michael Novotny

Rector (Senior Pastor)

Fr. Michael has been the Rector of Christ the King Anglican Church since June 2017 and has attended with his wife, Jennifer, since 2010. He is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University (B.A. Philosophy 2009) and Beeson Divinity School (M.Div 2013) having received Holy Orders in the Anglican Church in North America in 2016. Prior to becoming Rector of CTK he served as the Christian Studies department chair and Dean of Students/Spiritual Life at a local Christian high school. He is married to the love of his life, Jennifer. Together they have five children, Levi, Priscilla, Ruth, Joseph, and Samuel (of blessed memory). Fr. Michael’s desire as a priest is to “equip the saints for the work of ministry,” and help train up the next generation of clergy and lay leaders. Fr. Michael also serves as the Dean of the Central Alabama Deanery in the Anglican Diocese of the South.


Father ZACK CLEMMONS

Curate, Youth minister

Father Zack has been at Christ the King since July 2020, when he started as a seminarian at Beeson Divinity School. Before moving to Birmingham, Zack was a Latin and Rhetoric teacher in Colorado, and he was ordained a transitional deacon in the Diocese of the Rocky Mountains. He’s an aspirant polyglot and probable dilettante. Zack has been married to Erin, a potter, for eight years, and they have four children: Eleanor, Ames, Virgil, and Moses.


Josiah Trombley

Deacon

Deacon Josiah began attending Christ the King in August 2021, when he started seminary at Beeson Divinity School. He has been joyfully married to Callie since 2019. He graduated from Emmanuel College (B.S., Digital Media Productions) and Craven Community College (AFA, Music). He was ordained as a transitional deacon in the Jurisdiction of Armed Forces and Chaplaincy in 2023. Josiah is also a Mass Communication Specialist in the United States Navy Reserve. He enjoys church history, music, photography, fiction, whittling, fishing, nature, and hearing people’s stories.


Chrissy Coblentz

Parish Administrator

Chrissy has been at CTK since 2012. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they have three children. Chrissy enjoys movies, live music, and enjoying the wonders of God’s creation.


Hannah Francis

Children’s Minister

Hannah is blessed beyond measure to serve the children at CTK and their families. She has been working in the Children's Ministry since 2015. Hannah holds a BFA in Theater from William Carey University and has found that quite useful when working with children! Hannah is married to Drew Francis and they have two children, Lincoln and Sawyer


FATHER DAVID TEW

ASSISTING CLERGY

Father David began attending Christ the King in 2010 and has been serving the church as a priest since 2014. Father David has also served as interim rector of St. Paul’s in Tuscaloosa and currently shares interim duties at St. Bede’s in Birmingham. Father David holds a BA in Bible and Theology from Southeastern Bible College and an M.Div from Beeson Divinity School. Father David teaches full time in the areas of history, rhetoric, and theology. He married his high-school sweetheart, Andrea, and they have since been blessed with John (born 2018) and Anna Katherine (born 2021).

Alison Ritch

Music Minister

Alison has attended Christ the King since its inaugural service in 2007. She holds a BA in Ancient Languages with a minor in Music from Wheaton College, where she also earned an MA in Biblical Studies. She later received her AS in Nursing and works part-time as an intensive care nurse. Alison loves writing and performing original music, leading worship, cooking, and spending time with her husband Charlie and their four children.
