The Second Sunday in Advent

The Second Sunday in Advent

Are you ready for Christmas? This week’s message comes from Fr. Gerry McDermott on preparing for the celebration of Christ’s first coming. In this week’s gospel passage, John the Baptist cries out, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matt. 3:1-12). Listen to this important reminder to confess our sins and prepare Him room in our hearts.

Christ the King Sunday

Christ the King Sunday

Christ the King Sunday is a big day for our parish. Today is the feast day of our church and we celebrate the 1st year in our new building. This day is also marked with Holy Baptism and a reminder that we are called to follow our King Jesus Christ. Listen to this week’s message as we are challenged to stop dictating the terms of our own salvation.

The Twenty-Second Sunday after Pentecost

The Twenty-Second Sunday after Pentecost

In a confrontation with the Sadducees who did not believe in the resurrection, Jesus declared that God is not the God of the dead, but of the living (Luke 11:38). In this week’s gospel reading, Jesus confronts us with the reality of the bodily resurrection from the dead. Just as he would be physically raised from the dead, so will those who “are considered worthy.” Listen to this week’s message delivered by Fr. Michael Novotny.
