How much do you love your life? As we approach Holy Week Jesus tells us that those who love their lives will lose them, while those who hate their lives will gain them. This week’s message from Beeson Divinity School founder Dr. Timothy George helps us understand how vital this concept is to our grasp of the gospel.
The Third Sunday of Epiphany
What is discipleship? When Jesus called the apostles to make disciples, what was he calling them to do? We often mistakenly think that discipleship is simply learning more information about Jesus. The Third Sunday of Epiphany
Jesus was and is a missionary. He is seeking disciples. This week’s gospel text is Matthew 4:12-22 and tells the story of Jesus calling his first disciples. “Follow me,” He said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” What was Jesus talking about? What does fishing for men have to do with calling disciples? Listen to this week’s message by Fr. Gerry McDermott, titled “Fishing Lessons.”
The Twenty Third Sunday after Pentecost
The blind man, Bartimaeus, sought Jesus for healing and found him. Listen to Rev. Michael Novotny’s homily “Seek, Find, Follow, Repeat.”
